THA's Annual Family Fun Day is a day to connect with local organizations, meet your neighbors, and enjoy fun-filled activities for the whole family. There will be something for everyone to enjoy, making it the perfect opportunity to create lasting memories together. Remember, youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and everyone must register upon arrival. Bring your family and friends along for a day of summer fun - we can't wait to see you there!

Tifton Housing Recognitions

For this month's employee spotlight, THA honored Mr. Johnny "Duck" Somin. He is most recognized for his outspokenness, his ability to persevere, his humility, and his "get it done" attitude. He has been the embodiment of strength. Thank you for your hard work and dedication, Mr. Simon! THA looks forward to your continued success.

Deadline for REAL ID

May 7, 2025

Effective May 7, 2025, U.S. travelers are required to have a REAL ID in order to board domestic flights and access designated federal facilities. Individuals without a REAL ID will undergo additional security checks and may be denied entry.

Be aware that only state-issued licenses and identification cards that are REAL ID compliant are acceptable for official purposes.

To ensure you have a Georgia REAL ID

• Check the upper right-hand corner of your license/ID for either a Black or Gold Star.
• If you do not have a REAL ID document, visit your local DMV before May 7, 2025.

Seniors 60+ are invited to join us for lunch, some fun cards, and a chance to win some awesome prizes! This event is held monthly in our Elderly Village Community.

Maintenance News

• Work orders are handled on a case-by-case basis, with emergencies answered first, then any issues that may cause future problems handled. If you have an emergency after normal business hours, remember to press 5 to be transferred to the maintenance ON-CALL Person. Please leave your name, phone number, and the nature of your call.
• Tenants (Head of Households) are responsible for all property damage to the units and ruts from parking and driving on grass. Violators will be fined for damage.
• NO PARKING ON THE GRASS. Violators may be towed at the owner's expense.
• NO PARKING OR BLOCKING THE ALLEY. Violators may be towed at the owner's expense.
• Please return all roll-out garbage containers back to your apartments on the day of trash pickup. Violators may be fined by Tifton Housing Authority.

Property Management News

New Applicant Call-in/New Applicant Orientation: May 13th and May 14th

Recertification: Maple and Bellview

Housekeeping Inspections: Housekeeping Inspections will now be done on a monthly basis. Every resident should have received a letter with the following information:

• 1st week - Peterson and OOR
• 2nd week - Maple, Elderly Village, Bellview
• 3rd week Hill Home, Dixie Ave, Omega, Deas
  • Please be sure that your screen door is unlocked during your week of inspection. Locked screen doors/the inability to enter your unit will result in a letter to the housekeeping class.

Rent is due on the 1st and late after the 7th for Public Housing.
Rent is due on the 1st and late after the 5th for DEAs homes.

If for any reason you need a payment arrangement, you must come to the office to sign an agreement before the due date. If you are not current on your rent (2 months behind), a payment agreement will not be made. You are at risk of being sent to magistrate court.

The revised Admissions Continued Occupancy Plan (ACOP) is now available to read at the rent desk.

The THA Store is open every Tuesday at 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM at the Elderly Village Community Building - 1425 North Tift Avenue, Building 14.

DCA Project Based Voucher properties to open  waitlists on April 30, 2025

The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) announced today that several properties that have received Project Based Vouchers (PBV) through the Housing Choice Voucher program will open property-maintained waitlists on April 30, 2025.

Visit dca.georgia.gov to determine which properties will be opening a waitlist, as well as the duration of the waitlist, and instructions on how to contact each property to apply.

Interested applicants may call 470.802.4707 with questions or visit the HCV Help Center at dca.georgia.gov for further assistance.

This time of year is perfect for getting outside, meeting neighbors, and enjoying the fresh air. Whether you're taking a walk, spending time with family, or joining a community event, I hope you take a moment to enjoy the season and connect with those around you.

We're also excited to share that we're already making plans for our upcoming Family Fun Day! It's always a great time to come together, enjoy some good food, fun activities, and great company. Be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday, June 14th, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Bellview Community Building.
