HUD Strong Families Initiative

Tifton Housing Authority participated in HUD's Strong Families Initiative by hosting a "Family Fun Day" community event!

The free event was tons of fun for the whole family.
Attendees participated in fitness challenges, water activities, a gaming truck, live entertainment, a petting zoo, face painting, arts and crafts, and received great information and resources from our community partners!

We're looking forward to making this an annual event!
Check out some of the pictures on the pages of our newsletter and see the full album on our Facebook page!

Practical Advice for Avoiding Scams

via AgeSpace.org

We have been informed that people have been on THA properties claiming to be cellphone representatives, going door-to-door trying to either gain access to their apartments or to get their personal information. Please do not give out your personal information or open your doors to people you do not know. If in doubt, call 911 immediately, then alert Tifton Housing Authority.

  • Be suspicious and don't engage. If an offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Check out the credentials of a person or organization before signing any agreement or handing over any money.
  • Protect bank details and personal details. Never give personal details to anyone you don't know or trust.
  • Never send money abroad, often these are requests received online. Even if it says it's from someone you know, it can still be a scam.
  • Shred any documents containing a home address before putting them in the bin or recycling.
