Notice of Public Housing Utility Allowances Update
The Housing Authority of the City of Tifton has completed its annual review of the public housing utility allowances and encourages residents to review the proposed utility allowances. Residents may also provide written comments, as noted below.
DATES AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC COMMENT:
September 1, 2022, to September 30, 2022.To view the proposed utility allowance, please stop by the THA Administrative Office located at 1425 N. Tift Avenue, Bldg. 15, Tifton, GA 31793.
COVID Pre-Packaged Bag Donation
Alanna Lewis (left), Community Health Worker Ambreshia Allen (right), COVID Health Equity Navigator. These two ladies are with the GA Department of Public Health - South Health District delivered 200 pre-packaged bags with COVID updates and sanitizer kits for distribution to our Tifton Housing Authority residents.
Maintenance News
Work orders are handled on a case-by-case basis, with emergencies answered first and then any issues that may cause future problems handled.
If you have an emergency after normal business hours, remember to press 5 to be transferred to the maintenance ON-CALL PERSON voice mail. Please leave your name, phone number, and the nature of your call.

AARP Driver Safety Program
Individuals 16+ -- update your driving skills and earn a discount from your current automobile insurance provider. AARP developed this six-hour classroom refresher to help all drivers to improve their skills and prevent crashes. It covers age-related physical changes, rules of the road, and updates on recent changes in the law.

GAHRA Youth Leadership Conference
Check out the pictures of some of our youth attending the Annual Georgia Association of Housing and Redevelopment Authorities (GAHRA) 2022 Youth Leadership Conference this summer in Simons Island.
The conference provided a fantastic opportunity to enhance our youth's leadership skills and develop them personally. Also, it allowed them to explore lifelike situations and consequences without real-life permanency.

Recently, a new set of Queens was inducted into the Royal Family via the Ms. Full-Figured GA Pageant! Our very own Seneca Clark was voted Ms. Full-Figured Plus & Covergirl 2022.

GA Department of Public Health is coming to Elderly Village on September 14, 2022, to offer health checks and other health information.
Parenting Class
Parenting Class will meet on Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. at Dixie Community Building. If you have been recommended for this class, please plan to attend.
Transportation will be provided if needed. Please contact Ms.Melanie for assistance.
1st Friday Health Checks
Southwell Mobile Health Clinic will be offering sick and well visits, screenings, and referrals to specialty care on Oct. 7 at the Elderly Village.
Performing Arts Events

It's hard to believe that Fall is upon us. Soon we'll be enjoying crisp breezes, fall festivals, and, believe it or not, the holidays!
We all know that during this particular season, cold, flu, depression, anxiety, and other conditions tend to arise. Tifton Housing Authority is excited to partner with Southwell to bring their Mobile Health Clinic onsite in our communities. The Mobile Health Clinic will offer physicals, screenings, and medical services to keep area residents (18+) and their loved ones healthy and happy.
